500 _aNossa Voz is a publication of Casa do Povo. The newspaper existed alongside the institution from 1947 to 1964, with texts in Yiddish and Portuguese and an editorial profile aligned with left-wing ideals. It was closed by the military dictatorship, forcing its editor-in-chief Hersch Schechter and other collaborators to go into exile. It was relaunched in 2014, maintaining a dialogue with its historical premises and having its editorial axes rethought.
520 _aCéu da Boca, issue no. 1023 of Nossa Voz, presents the plasticity of a cosmology that is organized between the magnitude of the sky and the Earth and the intimacy of our holes, cavities, gaps, folds, muscles, saliva, bones – and also voices, laughter, moans, screams, grunts, breaths. The issue contains 18 new collaborations on notions of collective care, affections, the body as a source of non-hegemonic knowledge, Earth, technologies and the imagination of worlds with/from the mouth. Nossa Voz is Casa do Povo's programming on paper. Between an art publication and a community newspaper, Nossa Voz continues its historical, Jewish and humanist roots, in tune with the urgencies of the present. The newspaper initially circulated between 1947 and 1964, edited by activists linked to the institution, until it was closed by the civil-military dictatorship. It returned as a printed publication 50 years later. In annual and free editions, Nossa Voz experiments with different formats to read and echo voices that rehearse other possible worlds on a real scale.
