520 _aAntoni Abad proposes a sensorial interpretation of the urban space that is Venice, created in collaboration with a group of people who are blind and visually impaired. The Catalan artist, along with the collaboration of the aforementioned collective, unveils a Venice that is neither visible nor obvious to the eyes of the Biennale's public or the majority of citizens. Thus, the Catalan contribution to the Venice Biennale occupies a boldly paradoxical space: one dedicated to the senses, and more concretely to that which cannot be seen, as a counterpoint to a visual arts Biennale. Antoni Abad implemented BlindWiki in Venice: an open participation network that uses mobile phones as a locative medium for social communication.
