In this large-scale music and theatre performance, Wael Shawky continues his exploration and interrogation of historical narratives. Based on the eleventh-century French epic poem La Chanson de Roland, the work is brought to life by 20 fidjeri singers and musicians from the UAE and Bahrain, who perform in the traditional style of Arabian Gulf pearl divers. | ||
