Commissioned by the Chicago Architecture Biennial 2019. A collection of alternative architecture project from Chicago, the U.S. and a few from outside the U.S. This is architecture from the standpoint of social justice and doesn't follow standard paradigms of what architect is supposed to be. Initiated in 2015 as a print and online magazine, The funambulist does not understand architecture as the authored design of inhabitable sculptures but rather as the discipline that organizes bodies in space. Lambert, Leopold (ed.); Ysomi Umolu, Sepake Angiama and Paulo Tavares (curators); Texts: Nick Estes, Melissa Fernandez Arrigoitia, Anthony Tutugoro, Deborah Cowen, Patricia Nguyen, Sonia Vaz Borges, No Anger, Mawena Yehouessi, Desiree Valadares, Sabrien amrov, Jesse Mumm, Laleh Khalili, Charmaine Chua, Hacene Belmessous, Maira Khwaja, Ana Naomi se sousa& Antonio Brito Guterres, Anooradha Iyer Siddiqi, Tentative Collective, Mohammad Junaid, Benji Hart, Christina Sharpe, Rasheedah Phillips, Momoyo Homma, Patrick Jaojoco, Anjulie Rao
