From Reality to Fantasy: The Art of Luis Chan is the first comprehensive bilingual publication to take an in-depth look at one of the most important Hong Kong artists of the 20th century. The monograph pays tribute to Chan's contribution to the Hong Kong art scene and was published in celebration of his 100th birthday. With commissioned texts by Prof. John Clark (Australia), Lu Peng (China), Laurence Tam (Canada/HK), Johnson Chang Tsongzung (HK) and Jack Lee, as well as over 200 images of Chan's works, the majority of which have never been published before. Also included in the book are the chronology of the artist, family memoirs, artist writings, excerpts from important texts (by E.M. Barrett, Lui Shou Kwan, David Clarke and Nigel Cameron) on the artist and photographs spanning the artist's life.
