كتاب الدهريز عبارة عن تجميع لمجموعة من المقالات التراثية التي كانت تُنشر تحت عنوان "تغرودة" في جريدة البيان، حيث تستعرض المؤلفة أو الكاتب التراث الشعبي من مفرداته المختلفة: عادات، ألعاب، لغات محلية، تقاليد، ربما أيضًا الحكايات والأساطير التي تنمو في الذاكرة الشعبية. الهدف من الكتاب هو توثيق هذه المفردات، وإعادة تأمّلها، وإبراز قيمتها الثقافية قبل أن تتلاشَى بالتغيّر الاجتماعي، بالإضافة لإثارة النقاش حول كيفية الحفاظ عليها وتفعيلها في الحياة المعاصرة.

Al-Dahrīz is a collection of heritage-focused articles that originally appeared in the newspaper Al-Bayan under the title “Taghrudah.” These writings explore aspects of popular folklore: local practices, traditions, vernacular expressions, games, customs, and other cultural elements of Emirati or Gulf heritage. The book’s aim is to document these cultural particulars, reflect on their importance, and highlight how valuable they are before social change causes them to fade. It also serves to stimulate discussion about how to preserve and revitalize heritage in modern life.
