Presentation of Algerian photographer Mohamed Kouaci's photography archive, as preserved by his wife Safia Kouaci, for SAM Award for contemporary art in September 2009. Kouaci closely followed the Algerian revolution, the country's independence (1962), and its consequences. Interview with Caroline Hancock. Zineb Sedira calls herself a 'guardian of memory', having worked with her own parents, especially her mother, on the subject of the Algerian War, where memory and oral transmission have been key issues.
