The Seoul Museum of Art opened an art archive in April 2023 to collect and share modern art materials. The second collection exhibition is titled “To the Last Generation, Kim Yong-ik” and its catalogue. This exhibition recognizes the close relationship between the flow of modern art and society through the Kim Yong-ik archive, and reveals his actions of contemplating criticism and alternative methods for society and culture with a self-reflective attitude. The catalogue includes research papers analyzing Kim Yong-ik’s work world and archives, and is composed to examine the emotional value in addition to the informational and evidentiary value of art records.
