‘CORPUS’ is a fully 3D-printed work exploring the relationship between materiality and mortality, dimensionality and causality, and the afterlife of the codex. The work takes the form of a single-edition book, conceptualised, designed, and printed by graphic designer Darius Ou. This eponymous publication is a rendering of that original work; a photocopied reproduction that is also designed on its own terms. It paradoxically imagines the pre-existence of ‘CORPUS’, or its life before. The title means a dead body but also a body of text, a response to the tired catchphrase “print is dead”, and questions what this means for non-traditional practices like 3D printing.
