Sharjah Museums Authority presents the “Reflections from Egypt” exhibition hosted by the Sharjah Art Museum. This exhibition came in the context of monitoring Arab artistic achievements across their various historical stages, their diverse artistic trends and their diverse expressive styles, which reflect the richness and creativity of the Arab world.
The exhibition “Reflections from Egypt” presents the works of the Egyptian artist Zeinab Amer. Her works clearly reflect the spirit of the Egyptian environment, with its countryside and cities, land and sea, through a mixture of rich colors that embody its uniqueness and approach the essence of the life we live. The artist’s paintings are full of life that inspired her visual and expressive vocabulary, as she recreates everything she sees in a fleeting moment, using only her brushes in an attempt to paralyze those moments and give them a beautiful and permanent form. From the hustle and bustle of the surrounding things and people’s immersion in their lives, details and reflections, the artist Zeinab Amer composes her visual material and formulates her aesthetic and emotional project.
Perhaps the importance of this exhibition comes precisely from this point, as Zainab Amer never strayed for a moment from her surroundings. She always tried to explore the place and its essence using techniques that seem closer to recoding what lies behind the scene, and deepening the existence of the object within the details she experiences and the places that embrace it.
