Beginning on October 31, 2015, South as a State of Mind hosts documenta 14, temporarily becoming the documenta 14 journal until the opening of the exhibition in Athens and Kassel in 2017. For the next two years, the documenta 14 South publishes four special issues, edited by Quinn Latimer, documenta 14’s editor-in-chief of publications, and documenta 14 artistic director Adam Szymczyk. The d14 South is conceived as a place of research, critique, art, and literature that parallels the years of work on the d14 exhibition overall, one that will help define and frame its concerns and aims. Contributions: Alexander Alberro, Katerina Anghelaki-Rooke, Aristide Antonas, Hannah Arendt, Pierre Bal-Blanc, Miriam Cahn, Manthia Diawara, Angela Dimitrakaki, Maria Eichhorn, Fouad Elkoury, Marina Fokidis, Peter Friedl, Hans Haacke, Bhanu Kapil, Quinn Latimer, Yorgos Makris, Jonas Mekas, Marta Minujin, Naeem Mohaiemen, Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, Linda Nochlin, Paul B.
