Hisham Jaeet chronicles the city of Kufa, speaking about its Arab and Islamic origins, in seven chapters. In the first chapter, he spoke about the Arab conquest of Iraq and the establishment of Kufa, and in the second he dealt with the first urban plan of this city, and answered the question: Was Kufa just a camp or a real city? Tunisian writer, historian and thinker. Hisham Djait completed his secondary education at the Sadiki College, and in 1962 he obtained a BA in History. He specialized in Islamic history and published many works in both the Arab world and Europe. In 1981, he obtained a PhD in Islamic history from the University of Paris. Until the end of his life, he remained an honorary professor at the University of Tunis, and a visiting professor at McGill University (Montreal), the University of California, Berkeley and the Institut de France."
