وذكر المؤلف انعيم: انه عند دراسة أعمال هؤلاء الفنانين الرواد وتناول زوايا مختلفة من سيرتهم واتجاهاتهم الفنية. نلاحظ أنها تثير إعجابنا وقادرة على إمتاعنا وهي في نفس الوقت تذكرنا بالظروف الصعبة والقاسية التي عاشوا فيها... والمشوار الصعب الذي قطعوه... حيث تغلبوا على كل المعوقات والعقبات، وأثبتوا فيما بعد حضورهم، وحققوا من خلال ذلك الحضور، اعتراف بأهمية ومكانة الفن، ودوره في المجتمع العربي الحديث.
