Visual artist Bakr Shaikhoun is one of the Saudi visual artists who started early through local participation in Jeddah, keeping pace with the first beginnings of the visual arts movement in the Kingdom in the late sixties of the last century. He is one of the names of the first batch that graduated from the Institute of Art Education in Riyadh in 1969, and then joined to study art in Italy, from which he returned in 1980.
