Summary, etc. Title translation: July in The Eyes of Africa. The Arabic literature that deals with the July Revolution and Egypt’s “African role” remains stuck at the limits of the idea of this “role” and the direction of influence from the July liberation project to the rest of the national movements and the independence of African countries throughout the fifties and sixties, until the death of President Gamal Abdel Nasser (September 1970), while monitoring the African visions of the revolution project and their perceptions – negatively or positively – of Egypt’s African policies during the era of “Nasser” was almost absent, despite the importance of these visions in filling an extremely dangerous cognitive gap in the contexts of “Egyptian-African relations.” The current book attempts to penetrate the state of systematic “stereotyping” that is content with raising slogans of brotherhood with the peoples and sons of our African continent without making a greater effort to understand the motives and dynamics of the visions of these peoples in their relations with Egypt and the July Revolution at its heart as a foundational stage in the post-independence period, and what it indicates of the continuation and deepening of mutual misunderstanding and the provision of enormous opportunities for falsifying history and obscuring geography (as in many cases that the current work deals with in passing). It is no secret that the intention here is to make an effort to avoid further stereotyping instead of “knocking on the doors” of serious and objective interaction with the general intellectual product in the African continent “sub-Saharan” and understanding it and producing other knowledge that is more aware and critical at the same time.
