Summary, etc. Sharjah Museums Authority is pleased and proud to host ‘lasting Impressions’’ exhibition at Sharjah Art Museum for second consecutive local and international Arab artists. The purpose of the Sharjah Museums Authority is to deliver the highest quality of museum services for resident of the Emirate of Sharjah and all its visitors, through its facilities, exhibitions, learning, programmes, research and community outreach. This year, the distinguished Emirati artist Dr. Najat Meky, who has made a valuable contribution to artistic development, becoming a renowned figure at the local, Arab and regional level. In line with Sharjah Museums Authority desire to provide visitors to Sharjah’s museums with best museum experience, the exhibition aims to highlight the importance of art by enriching public culture with the nation’s history and civilization. The Department considers the role of the museum to be focused on preserving the history and memories of communities, communicating with community, and recoding and documenting memories for the future, and our programmes and activities are all designed with this goal in mind. Najat Meky was one e of the UAE’s first internationally recognised fine artists, and this exhibition is in recognition of her outstanding career achievement, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to pay a special attention to culture and art. His Highness, appreciates the artistic works of Dr. Meky, and has praised her performance at local and international exhibitions.
