| Summary, etc. | This book was published in conjunction with the 9th International Istanbul Biennial in 2005. "This biennial is for and about Istanbul. We have sought to address the environments in which the work will be shown and to place art in dialogue with different aspects and observations of the city itself. This has meant asking artists to stay in the city and produce new work, as well as selecting work that might shed light on the particularities of Istanbul in comparison with cities elsewhere.
