Summary, etc. These holdings include a rare collection of the possessions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, of printed plates documenting the monuments of Islamic Cairo dating back to the period between the seventh and eighteenth centuries. The book was edited and its introduction written under the title (Islamic Art in Cairo) by Muhammad Hamida, Professor of Art History at the Sharjah Art Institute, detailing its parts, which came in 12 sections: Architecture - Decorations and Mosaics - Ceilings - Woodwork - Doors - Ceramics - Mashrabiyas - Interior Scenes - Textiles and Carpets - Furnishing - Manuscripts - Holy Qurans
