Translation of: An Introduction to Ancient Philosophy by A. H. This book examines the historical development of philosophy in the Greek-speaking world, from its beginnings in the Ionian Islands and Italy, through the Socratic era and the philosophical contributions of Plato and Aristotle, culminating in the final philosophical peak written in Latin by Saint Augustine, who spent most of his life in Annaba, Algeria. With a keen historical sense, the author explores the cultural and social contexts that influenced the views of various philosophers and the theoretical ways in which these views and approaches clashed, interacted, and overlapped. The author strives to convey his ideas in a simplified style, aiming to clarify their various aspects for both specialists and beginners, avoiding the subjective approaches that often characterize similar studies.
تشكل الفلسفة الإغريقية محاولة الإنسان الأولى لتفسير العالم بالأدوات العقلية بعد تجربة الشرق الأدنى القديم في إستكناهه أسطورياً وإستنطاقه بلغة النبوءة والشعر. يُعنى هذا الكتاب بإستعراض التطور التاريخي للفلسفة في العالم الناطق باليونانية منذ بداياتها الأولى في الجزر الأيونية وإيطاليا، ومروراً باللحظة السقراطية وما أودعته فلسفتها لدى أفلاطون وأرسطو، لينتهي بآخر قمة فلسفية كتب باللاتينية، وهو القديس أوغسطين الذي عاش الجزء الأكبر من حياته في عنابة في الجزائر.
