For over 17 years, Sedira has explored notions of family, tradition, oral history, migration and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge, often through a personal lens. Covering close to two decades of Zineb Sedira’s practice, a selection of which was exhibited in a major survey exhibition at the Sharjah Art Foundation, this publication is edited by Sarah Zürcher and includes scholarly essays by Glenn Lowry, Marie Muracciole and Morad Montazami along with a conversation with Hoor Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Art Foundation. It features seminal works, recent sculptures and installations and rarely-seen videos, and includes documentation of three new commissions by SAF.For over 17 years, Sedira has explored notions of family, tradition, oral history, migration and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge, often through a personal lens.
