Subject(s): Summary: The exhibition contains a rare collection of the possessions of H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah, including copper engraving works listed in a Description of Asia(which include Persia) (1672), by Dr. Olfert Dapper, copper engravings from a book of Geography (1683), written by Alain Manesson Malet, copper engravings of Persia (1705-1720), published in a book by Henri Chatelain and engravings published by Pieter van der Aa in 1729. Further the collection includes some copper engravings taken from the multivolume French publication Histoire Universelle in1780, and some steel engravings from the French series 'Universe Pittoresque' (1841) published by Firmin Didot in Paris, and lithographic plates created by the French archaeologist and painter Eugene Flandin from his journey to Persia in 1851.
